Meri St. Mary interviews one of Hollywood's most treasured bass players KIRA, who has played in numerous bands including Sexsick, Twisted Roots, DC3 & more before joing BLACK FLAG.
Kira recorded & toured with this band while simultaneously going to UCLA where she graduated. After Black Flag, Kira formed a two-bass duo DOS with then husband Mike Watt (another monster bass player). DOS still performs to this day leaving the listener loving the sublities & hardness of dueling basses! Kira also co-wrote some songs for what would be the Minutemen's final album 3 Way Tie (For Last). Kira now works as a dialogue editor on theatrical films & won an Emmy for her work on the John Adams episode "Don't Tread On Me" as well as some major releases from Under the Tuscan Sun to Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Kira has appeared in the documentaries We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen & American Hardcore.
Listen in as Kira shares her knowledge & experience as one of the hardest working woman around. She is verbose, witty & generous with her story, you'll walk away wanting to hear more. Kira is writing original music, loves her two dogs & her Garz 3/4-scale custom bass!
