In Celebration of World Breastfeeding Week 2010, host Arly Helm interviews two of the three authors of the new “The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding,” published by La Leche League International. Teresa Pitman, La Leche League Leader for 31 years and Diana West, La Leche League Leader for over 10 years and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, talk about what drew them to the project of editing this classic work. Both are well-known authors and speakers, both breastfed their own children, and both feel that while breastfeeding has essentially not changed, the world women live in has, and the book needed to be written to reflect that.
